Frequently Asked Questions

I’m nervous about visiting the dentist. How do you make this process easier?

You’ve taken the important first step in visiting this website. Our friendly staff will strive to make your experience pleasant — from the little extras we offer during treatments, like blankets and movies, to the current technology that we employ to give you the best dental care. We offer a comprehensive array of services to care for your oral health. Regular visits to the dentist will help you maintain good oral health over a lifetime. Find out how we can improve your smile and make a visit to the dentist more enjoyable.

Do you refer patients to specialists?

In some cases, yes. Dr. Shah is trained as a family dentist and has advanced training in family dentistry, restorative dentistry, and cosmetic dentistry, but there are instances when he will refer a patient to a colleague. Some dental specialists are oral surgeons, periodontists (supporting structures), endodontists (internal tooth problems), orthodontists (for moving teeth), and pedodontists (for children). Be assured that Dr. Shah will only refer you to an individual who will provide the same level of service and care that he conscientiously provides.

How does the doctor keep up to date on current techniques, technology, and materials in dentistry?

Dr. Shah invests time and resources in state-of-the-art technology. The entire staff stays current on what is available in dental technology so they can offer you the benefit of the latest and greatest techniques. Our continuing education consists of formal coursework, additional training, and independent study (reading, reading, reading!).

What do you do to maintain a safe and sterilized environment?

We go above and beyond to offer our patients a sterile environment, and we follow guidelines set by the CDC and OSHA. You might notice that we use disposable products and spend time between patients sterilizing and thoroughly cleaning the examination areas. Our instruments are sterilized in an autoclave, which subjects them to high temperature and pressure for thorough disinfection. Clean teeth and a clean office are our obsessions.

Do you accept my insurance? What payment options are available to me?

We accept many PPO insurance plans and will file out-of-network forms, too. Cobblestone Dental Center is happy to serve as a bridge between you and your insurance company, but please remember that payment is ultimately your responsibility. Please call our Maricopa dental office or see the contact us page for payment options, including CareCredit.
